Q: Are you a Federal Firearms Licensee? (FFL)
A: As of June 3rd, 2025, I have an active ATF Form 7 Federal Firearms Application in progress. Their stated timeline is 60-120 days from start to finish, but we are hopeful by August of 2025 to have the license in hand.Q: How will I know when your FFL is approved and you are ready for business?
A: We will keep this FAQ up to date when our license status changes, but the best way to keep informed is to follow our YouTube Channel (Click here) to be notified soonest.Q: What FFL services will you offer?
A: We will offer firearms for sale from our physical inventory primarily. We will also be able to order firearms from our network of vendors, and we will facilitate transfers from other stores and websites.Q: How much will your transfer fee be?
A: We will be offering FFL transfers for $25 per firearm. If ordering multiple items of the same manufacturer and model (such as AR15 receivers or pistol frames) during the same transaction, we will reduce the rate to $10 per item. We will also offer National Firearms Act (NFA) transfers for $100 once we obtain our SOT.Q: What are your operating hours and how do I schedule a transfer?
A: We currently operate this business from our personal home, so we don't have a brick-and-mortar store front. We do keep regular hours of Monday-Friday 10AM-5PM and accept appointments when scheduled in advance. A: We offer several payment options. Personal / Business Checks: Subject to a 7-day hold before shipment.Cash: For local pick-up orders only.Q: What is the difference between a "transfer" and a "purchase"?
A: A Transfer is when you buy a firearm from another dealer (like an online store) and use us as the local licensed FFL to legally receive it. You pay them for the gun, and you pay us a small transfer fee to handle the required ATF Form 4473, conduct the NICS background check, and complete the final handover. A Purchase is when you buy a firearm directly from our inventory. We handle the entire transaction from start to finish, including the sale of the firearm and all the required paperwork, with no other dealer involved.The Firearm Transfer Process & Legalities
Q: What documents do I need to bring for an FFL transfer?
A: To legally complete the transaction, we will fill out an ATF Form 4473: Firearms Transaction record. We will need a copy of your unexpired driver's license or identification card with your current legal address. We will optionally need a copy of your unexpired Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit (accepted in place of NICS background check) or to conduct a National Instant Check Service background check to satisfy federal requirements. Q: Can I complete the ATF Form 4473 ahead of time?
A: Yes! Click Here for a link to the online ATF Form 4473. It is important that you only fill out the customer portion (as instructions detail) and do not sign the form until the date of your transfer appointment. Once you have completed your portion, email it to us at CStephensGW@Gmail.com.Q: Can I still buy a gun if my DL / ID and TN HCP address does not match?
A: If your driver's license / ID card and TN HCP address does not match, we will need a change of address memo from your permit's issuer. Without this confirmation, we cannot legally complete the transaction.Q: What if my background check is delayed or denied?
A: If NICS returns a delayed status, they must let us know by law within 5 business days. Until that time, we will keep your firearm and documentation as required by federal requirements until we receive an updated status. We will contact you when NICS responds. If you are denied or your delay becomes a denial, we will not be able to complete the transaction and retain your firearm pending instructions from your original transferring store / website. If you purchased a firearm directly from us and are denied, we will refund the cost of the item minus a 25% restocking fee.Q: Do you handle private party transfers (PPTs)?
A: Yes we will facilitate private party transfers (PPTs). We will charge the same $25 transfer fee. In order to conduct a PPT, we will need to create a bill of sale from the original transferor to C. Stephens Gun Works, LLC (and we'll need a copy of your driver's license / ID card). Once the item is transferred to us, we'll conduct the transaction as if it was a transfer to the intended party. Q: Will you offer special orders or source specific firearms not in your inventory?
A: Absolutely! Initially our physical, in-stock inventory will be small, so we anticipate doing many custom orders to get exactly what our customers are looking for. We will have many partner wholesalers which we can order from, as well as being able to source from other stores when the item isn't available wholesale. To place a custom order, please email us at CStephensGW@Gmail.com and include either the manufacturer & SKU number or the UPC code and we will check the availability and get back to you promptly. We may in the future offer a self service portion of this website for you to custom order from our wholesalers either for local pickup or transfer to any FFL in the U.S.Q: What types of accessories will you carry or be able to order?
A: We will carry a wide variety of firearm ammunition, optics, holsters, cleaning supplies, and safe storage solutions physically in-stock (viewable through our eBay & Gunbroker) as well as available to order through our wholesalers. To maintain our low pricing, we offer two options for orders under $500: 1) Standard Shipping: We can combine your order with others, which may add a short delay but keeps costs down. 2) Expedited Shipping: For an additional fee (typically $25 − $40), we can place and ship your order immediately. Orders over $500 ship without any delay or additional fee.Q: Do you offer local pickup?
A: For items we have physically in-stock, we do offer local pickup! Our eBay & Gunbroker stores are primarily focused for shipping across the country, but we would prefer sell items locally where possible.
