The HK SP5L Semiautomatic Pistol is the closest thing you can get to a real MP5, without the hassle of going through paperwork.
Many features on the SP5L mimics the MP5 such as the 1/2×28” threaded Navy barrel with a tri-lug adaptor, paddle and magazine release, and a fluted chamber. Another quality taken directly from the MP5 is the charging handle, which can be locked into place at the recess notch, enabling the user to do the “MP slap.” At the heart of the SP5L is the legendary roller-delayed blowback operating system, the same system that made the G3 rifle such a popular choice. Due to the popularity of the MP5 and MP5 imitations, there are countless aftermarket accessories available for the SP5L such as handguards and rails. Thanks to its 16.5” barrel, the SP5L pistol can be upgraded with a rifle stock without having to buy an SBR tax stamp.
